Please see us re. layout of blog. Mrs R
Your research and analysis is good, but I think you've got to give a much better explanation about why you want it to look like a fashion magazine. Perhaps this will come out in the analyisis of the visual style of the covers? Mrs R

My Initial Idea

I decided to create a music magazine because i am interested in journalism and photograpy and music in general. To make my magazine a bit different from the rest i have decided to make it in the style of a fashion magazine to appeal to a female audience of about 16+ I think this idea will work as it will still be a music magazine.
Here are some images from existing fashion magazines that inspire me:

On the cover of this magazine they have used a current, popular music artist, Leona Lewis. I like the close up head shot and the bold title in the corner of the cover. I think this makes it simplistic yet eye catching which draws the reader in. This is what i want to create with my magazine.

I decided to do some further research into women's magazines to extend my knowledge about what to include in my magazine to attract my female audience.
- These magazines are dedicated to the ideal image of a woman who is independent, sexy and looks after her appearance in order to catch men. They are targeted at single, career women who have a disposable income. The images of the magazines above are high fashion, glossy style and upper-market prices. This is how they are targeted at this type of women.
-If you study women's magazines' front covers, you will find that almost all will have head and shoulder shots, and the woman will be looking directly out as though looking straight at the reader. This is done to make the cover more personal to the reader as the model is giving direct eye contact to them. Also the head shot is to show a close up image of the perfect, airbrushed ideal woman and it is focused on beauty.
- They provide an idealised and stereotypical version of what a woman should look like. They show that women should be flawless and their skin should be like it has been air-brushed as it has on these covers. Beautification is the main focus and the women who buy this type of magazine buy it for one reason, to copy and try and make themselves like the models on the cover.
